When to use HEIC to JPG
iPhones use HEIC to save storage, but some upload forms and older desktop apps accept only JPG. Convert when compatibility matters; keep the HEIC original if you need an untouched source. JPG re-encodes pixels with lossy compression, so fine texture can change.
Quality and file size
The result uses a high-quality JPG setting; its size depends on the photo and may be larger or smaller than the HEIC. Large photos need several times their file size in browser memory. If decoding fails, export a JPG from Photos and retry.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert several photos?
Choose multiple HEIC files; download results individually or together as a ZIP.
Will the JPG have the right orientation?
The decoder applies orientation when available. If it looks sideways, export it from Photos and retry.
Does JPG keep the original quality?
No. JPG is lossy; keep the HEIC if you need an untouched copy.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Decoding and conversion happen in this browser tab.
