When to use Remove Image Metadata
Camera photos may embed GPS coordinates, capture time, and camera details in EXIF fields. This tool redraws the image pixels into a new file, so those source EXIF fields are not copied into the download.
Quality and file size
Re-encoding can slightly change JPG pixels and may discard color profiles or other non-EXIF data too. The original stays untouched. If a workflow requires a specific metadata field removed, inspect the exported copy with a metadata viewer.
Frequently asked questions
Does this remove GPS location?
The exported copy is redrawn from pixels and omits the source EXIF GPS fields.
What else can be removed?
EXIF camera details and capture time are omitted; color profiles and other ancillary data may also be dropped.
Does it change the original?
No. The tool creates a separate copy and leaves the source file untouched.
Are photos uploaded?
No. The copy is created in this browser tab.
